@Peemacgee this has been awesome. Great to learn so much...fun how a watch sparks this dialogue.

Visiting relatives in Chicago so had to make a trek to the Farnsworth House, one of a ton of Van Der Rohe stuff in the area. Reminded me of this thread.

I have visited it a few times; it is a stunning place!

Similar style, with a salmon dial. Anyone have a clue as to what size this might be?

Once it arrives, I will. 👍
gotcha, the movt shots tell a lot, because the bigger ones have a larger movt holder.

Pretty watch, congrats!

If the movement is a cal. 12.68Z, and it likely is, the size should be 32-33 mm.

I’d be fine with that. Just hoping it’s larger than 30mm. If it’s that small, probably has to go to the GF.

(Says the guy who just bought a 28mm weems.)

If it's the same movement as the one in the OP, you can guess at the size from the distance to the seconds hand center. It seems to be quite a bit smaller.

Mine was a 23m, a little smaller movement than the 12.68z. My gut tells me it is a 33mm variety based on the scale of the crown to the case, but I could be 100% wrong on that one, as pics can be confusing.

There seem to be two case variations for these watches. The first has straight lugs like your example and the one I posed above. The second (below) are more classically curved. Is that just a difference from the time frame produced?

Yes, totally different style. I am not an expert, but they seem to fall into the classic form and the more modern form with the straight lugs

Exactly what I did. I know the actual distance from the center wheel pivot to the fourth wheel pivot on a cal. 12.68Z. So, I measure the apparent distance on my computer screen using a ruler. Then I measure the apparent diameter of the case and use cross multiplication to solve for the actual diameter of the case. I got ~32 mm.

Woah, impressive thought process. Thanks! Below is an example that is ~32.5mm that seems to match the dial/subdial layout. With the thin bezel, it is going to wear larger so I’m fine with that size. And I got it for a steal. Was lumped in with a lot of ladies watches.
