    Dear Omega community

I am still learning and reading a lot about the Omega Speedmaster Automatic (Reduced) and I am happy to contribute on this model series.

A few weeks ago I finally decided to get a 3510.12.00. To receive more information about the watch I went to the Omega boutique (as usual). They told me that the original movement (calibre 1143H1) is not inside anymore, but a calibre 3220. Both are based on the ETA2892.

My question: Is or was the replacement of a 1143 with a 3220 (which does not anymore have the serial number of the watch on it) normal/common? Do you have further information to share with me about this movement change?

    Thank you and sincerely,
    Deileadoir

Yes - when these are sent in for servicing, the movement is generally exchanged.

Super fast. :) Thank you very much, Archer.

While I understand the efficiency part of directly exchanging the movement and then refurbish (not sure if that is the right word) the old movement. I think it is still a bit sad that the whole movement is exchanged, since in the 1143 the serial number of the watch must have been engraved.
