Why is the Seamaster 300M 42mm less expensive than many of the other Seamasters. I understand the lower price of $5,200 in relation to chronometers like the Speedmaster but look at the Aqua Terra 150 M 41MM, at $5,700. It's $500 higher than the 300M for no apparent reason that I can see. This is just one, but there are plenty of other comparisons that are equally puzzling.

I think it has to do more with the competition outside of the brand than inside. There are probably not a lot of cannibalisation of sales between the various Omegas; someone looking for an Aqua Terra for a sober/sporty business outfit would probably not go for a Seamaster 300M to begin with.

The Seamaster 300M has always been very competitively priced, though less so nowadays.

I think it also has to do with the price of the previous version - it still used the cal. 2500D, so was not one of the Master Co-axial in-house movements. The new version, although it had quite a few new features and a better movement, was prices only about $500 more than the old. I think this is Omega’s philosophy with new watches - price a little more than the old version. Just look at the price points between the old and new Speedmaster - not as much as some had speculated it would be with the new movement.

the Aqua Terra line had the MC movement introduced earlier, so go the price bump earlier.
