True for me. Brosnan was and still is my favourite Bond. He got dealt a bad hand with the writing, but his portrayal of the character is top notch. I wish he had gotten more GoldenEye level material, I think he would have been more highly regarded in most people's lists.

Brosnan and Connery are top shelf for me, followed by Dalton and Craig who do a great job but are just playing a bit of a different Bond, noting Dalton's is pretty book accurate to be fair. I was never a fan of the Moore era, and I actually don't remember Lazenby and should probably rewatch his at some point.

Dalton's Living Daylights has such a great plot. It probably suffers a bit from overcomplexity, but I love it.

Well, at least you gave it a second chance. I have a question for you though, if Bond hadn't died at the end, would it still have been worse than Spectre?

It's hard for me to answer that. What I can say is that if the ending had been different it would not be my #25 of 25 Bond movies. It probably moves at least into the middle of the pack. The movie had issues beyond the ending, though.

Indeed, that it did

Yeah, I quite like The Living Daylights. I like Dalton too, he's a great Bond in his own right. I just prefer Connery and Brosnan's spin on the character the most.

Really none of them have ever done a bad job. Moore's character, while my least favourite portrayal, is still pretty entertaining and well acted.

I didn't really mind that Bond died at the end. There's very clearly no continuity between the Bonds, Craig has been the longest serving Bond, they're bound to have rebooted it for the next Bond regardless of what Craig did. Giving him a send off... honestly, fine by me.

NTTD suffered from generally kinda strange plot and pacing as many of Craig's movies have, but it also had a lot going for it. I'd probably place it somewhere mid pack as well. It's definitely mid pack on Craig's, above Spectre easily and probably above QoS but I'd need to rewatch, it's been a while.

I recommend FRWL, GoldenEye, and Casino Royale to anyone who is considering getting into Bond. If you don't like those three you don't like Bond and shouldn't waste your time watching anything else.
Probably agree those are my top 3.

Casino Royale probably in my top5 movies and very much one I have to watch on TV If on, regardless at what point, much like Taken & Bourne!

It breaks my heart that they busted up the novel Moonraker for parts. It's my favorite novel.

While I'm not crazy about Amazon owning the Bond franchise, one thing I hope they will do someday is to make a period accurate movie version of Moonraker, even if it's only done for streaming. Other than the missile launch and Bond's escape most of the movie would not need to be special effects heavy (translation -- not super expensive to make).
Like I've said previously would love Amazon to go both film (keeping Bond how we know Bond) and also series - follow Kim Sherwoods books.

If the did Moonraker like the book, they can use my county Kent as per the book but wonder if they would go the Bentley route!

Agree on Moore, whilst great for the time and age (& I love his off screen Bond character - find the stroy about the young kid meeting him at an airport).

Dalton was good and probably to much like Craig in an era that didn't want Craig. I try to erase the last 2 Brosnon films from my mind!

But that dam scene in GoldenEye & Famke are just perfect!

Biggest issue was the wasted villian, thought he was poor

If this is one of the watches rumoured to be released. Think possible a collector edition rather than new Bond watch

Thanks to @YY77 sent on the TH Forum

Agreed. I thought Blofeld was poor too, in both movies.

It makes so little sense to do a Spectre movie tie in watch now. Makes me think maybe Amazon intend to reboot Bond but retain SPECTRE (the organisation) as the antagonist in a new story.

If the rumours I heard many moons ago, about a young Bond reboot in the 60s, maybe we see that start to Spectre also?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'd be totally for that.

This is a complete pipe dream but imagine if this were how Omega chose to reissue the 165.024. 😜

Ha I think the Seamaster heritage is Omegas current nod to the 165.024.

I’m just wishing for a smaller no date monochrome, closed case back, and no lumed bezel.

If not give me a tapering flush fitting bracelet for the above model

Guess the other question is. Who do we think the next young Bond will be?

My main issue with NTTD is that it's so freaking long. Some parts just drag. That's probably why I prefer QoS more. It's a quick entertaining watch.

I'm viewing Casino Royale on October 5th and GoldenEye on October 12th in theaters. I'm stoked. My #1 and #3 Bond movies. Eva Green and Izabella Scorupco. 👍

QoS caught so much hate but it’s really well done from my standpoint. They captured the mid 2000s so well with the start of the climate change response and cash-fueled hype. I re-watch QoS quite often.
