I mean...this would be the equivalent of taking a vintage guitar, replacing the pickguard, fretboard--- you know what, replacing everything that wasn't the body of the guitar with questionable and improper parts, and then taking a wire brush to the edges of the body itself.

That reminded me of my trip to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, where they have a WWII sub on display you can tour. During the tour someone asked the guide if the submarine was still operational. The guide responded, "She's got one good dive left in her, but she's not coming back up".
