A fantastic beautiful example. Thank you for sharing. I am pretty sure those hands are original to the watch.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Now I don't feel as crazy for all the time I spent looking for it. Excited for the 2998 to came back from STS for a straight lug group shot

Based on this ad, the hands look correct for a 1959 version:

Lovely "barn find" condition.

That's a very nice example. Straight seconds and BA minutes is my favorite handset, add the countdown bezel plus the untouched condition, and this is perfect. Congratulations!

Awesome find indeed and welcome to the club.
COUNTDOWN BEZEL!!! ::psy::

I know the countdown bezel is correct for the 1. Probably the 2 or 3 as well. Have to get @kox here for a looksee.
Could you post macros of the bezel digits so we can fully see the texture of the font (and pronounce it original). I've sweated this process out with my 2913s and 14755 and perhaps you would agree to as well!!

Congrats on this awesome watch and lets not forget the amazing 7077/6 bracelet as well.

My first thought was the hands must be original based on the overall condition of the watch...but I have three 2913-3's and all three were born in 1959 with broad arrow hands. I still think your hands are probably original, Ive just never seen this reference with these hands. They look too perfectly matched to not be, and coupled with a watch with original bezel...

Yes it is...I have two partial bezels that came with 2913-3's and both are countdown. Which is why I had Aldo make my new ones the same.

I'm pretty happy with it and hopefully this will be the last incoming for some time (we all know how that goes 馃槈).

Mike,
One word of advice...that original bezel is extreme fragile. I would suggest you keep it safe and avoid wearing it. They are extremely hard to find in this condition and are quite valuable...possibly nearly as much as the watch 馃榾

If you want to wear the watch regularly, you may want to start searching for a replacement bezel and have Aldo restore it before wearing this. It may take as long to get this done as it took to find the watch...but in the long run it will be worth the effort.

Congrats on an exceptional piece. Enjoy it.

Or find yourself a vintage 2914 Railmaster to wear. No bezel, less worries 馃榿
