Hi All, I stumbled on this forum almost exactly 1 year ago and ever since joining I have been bitten hard by the vintage Omega bug. One of the first vintage Omega's to catch my eye was in a post in WRUW where I saw a beautiful 2913 posted and immediately fell in love with the model. Then I tried to find one for sale and discovered how difficult they were to find with their original parts. I sifted through 100s of ads, went through historical forum posts, made search alerts on eBay and Google but never could find a decent example in my price range without any glaring flaws. I almost gave up and settled for a incomplete example so many times. I saw several great examples but they always ended up having something wrong. Either no bezel, a reproduced bezel, a damaged dial, or a damaged case. Even seen missmatched movements and bezels/hands and all together fake cases. Its a bit of a crapshoot out there, but having such a great resource of OF and the people on here to help were the only way I would ever feel comfortable buying one. A few months ago I stumbled upon this 2913 tucked away on a forum. I messaged the poster and forgot about it. A week later to my surprise I got a response from the seller saying it was for sale. After a bunch of research and confirmation from some great members on this forum I made an offer and closed the deal. The seller was not comfortable shipping outside of the EU so had to have it shipped to my sister in law in London last month. She just came to visit last night and brought with her this 2913-3. I'm pretty happy with it and hopefully this will be the last incoming for some time (we all know how that goes ). I think this should have BA hands since it is a 2913-3, but the handset on it has matching patina and looks orignal to the watch. If I ever do find a pair of BAs for sale might switch them out but besides that no plans to make any changes. Here are some photos. Thanks for reading! Cheers, Mike
wow...and what appears to be an original bakelite bezel...that alone is the prize CONGRATS...its a beauty! Dibs!
