2412 - Genuine?

Hi there,

The smart thing would've been to ask this before purchasing but I just took a gamble on a watch listed as a 1939 '2412'.

I didn't pay a lot for it at all, just bought on a whim as I like how it looks. I can return it if required. I wondered if it's fake, and if not, what the background is for the reference. Google doesn't seem to show much under 2412, which led me to question the authenticity.

Thanks!

Genuine but with a poorly refinished dial and a very small size, unless it was less than say $100-150 US is wasn't worth it.

Great, thanks. Pretty much spot on with the price so good to know I wasn't too foolish!

Caliber 28. Stamped under the balance wheel and you might be able to make it out

What's the case width on this one? Some listings say 34mm, some 30mm. I've got very small wrists but 30mm might be a struggle to pull off.

Since you bought the watch, why not just measure it yourself and let us know.

Good thinking, I'll do just that. When it arrives.....
As noted above, the movement is 28mm in diameter, so you can get an idea of the overall size from the photo.

Probably 31/32 mm. Some include the crown giving a false width

wait till it shows

Thanks. Should be here next week.

I'm not sure I've ever tried a watch that small but we'll see. Definitely going to be little. My Speedy looks pretty ridiculous on me, even 39's look too big. I'll put a photo up when it arrives.
