2254.50 Bezel Insert in 2230.50

I have been looking for a nice example of a 2254.50 “Peter Blake” for a while but it seems I am not alone due to the increasing asking prices I have seen. This has lead me to consider the 2230.50 “Non-AC” as an alternative since they seem to be selling for the same or even less than their printed dial counterparts. I was wondering how feasible it would be to find an OEM insert from the Peter Blake and fit it into the existing Non AC bezel assembly. I have searched this topic and seen some examples but have also read it is not as cut and dry as it may seem. Apparently the inserts aren’t as easily removed as something like a Rolex insert is and often damaged in the process. I have read of people swapping the whole bezel assembly but it also looks like it isn’t a perfect match since the thickness in bezel is different on the two models. I was hoping someone might chime in who has done this and offer insight on whether or not it is worth it. Thank you.

Bezel inserts are not available as separate pieces, so even if you only want to change inserts, you would need to buy a complete bezel.

Removing and installing inserts is not difficult, but best done with a press to avoid damage in my opinion.

What would be the best way to acquire a 2254.50 bezel? I’m assuming an AD wouldn’t order one for me if I brought in a 2230.50 since it isn’t the correct bezel for the watch?

They won’t sell you one at all. You would have to find one on the open market, or work with a watchmaker that has access to Omega parts.
