Attractive watch but not one that I would spend 21k on.

Historically prices for this have been much lower - about 5-10% of the realized price at Phillips. It is uncommon with the US ARMY inscription in the back and rare to find in nice condition. I have a nicer one that maybe I should consign with Phillips!

Those have been more in the range of 800-1000 USD lately- unless they have gone up a bit.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen Phillips sales reach prices completely disconnected from their current market value.
They’ve clearly created their own brand name which seems to be perceived as making a watch «bankable » and more liquid as an investment, or maybe simply more « cool » to the deep pocketed enthusiasts. Pretty much the same way Hodinkee has.
