Can't make it for the inaugural weekend so came to check out the track early....

Love the photos - thanks for posting!

For all the negative press, I think this race is going to be a visual stunner. I have already stated my disappointment with the track, but I am going to stay openminded and see if F1 can still put on a fun race for us this Saturday night.

21:55 local time is a ridiculous time to have a race. Let the Europeans have to get up early for a change. Seems Formula 1 is following tennis.

6am is pretty early to be fair. Same time as Australian and Japanese GPS.

It was until a few minutes ago.. all that ruckas jammed into a quick 30 minute opening show? I'd want my money back if I was still there! Lol

I have the F1TV subscription, excellent way to see all F1 content, FP’s, Quali, races, F2, F3, historical races.

And FP1 is cancelled! Sainz ran over a drain and broke his floor and suspension. Stewards cancelled FP1 for track inspection.

That could have been incredibly dangerous if that thing went up instead of under, rather incredible that they didn’t consider the risks.

Did fp1 just get cancelled for viagra commercials?
FP1 got cancelled for safety reasons after Sainz ran over a drain cover and broke his car.

“Jesus Pareja’s Porsche 962 hit a manhole cover which had been torn out of the ground by a car ahead, such was the massive downforce of the Group C cars of the era.
The cover penetrated right through the car and the fuel tank, causing the car to burst into flames. A couple of other cars were also collected by all the bits of debris”
