Considering the other sporting events on the tellybox yesterday that sprint event was very underwhelming. I'm really not convinced by the sprint format.

That sprint was pretty dull.. Verstappen it should have been penalized for intentionally running Leclerc off the circuit in turn one, here's an interesting rendering of a 2004 car compared to a 2023 car, even when you see them side by side the disparity in scale doesn't come across like this, I'm not sure it's entirely accurate though:
It’s not accurate. Just look at the helmets.

CotA said that there wasn't any noticeable uptick on ticket sales this year from the sprint race. I'm not surprised considering the jump in prices. Last year, I think I paid around $800 for a 3 day main grandstand seat in the shade. This year the price was almost double.

Hill was more crowded on Sat than last year, the sprint probably pulled some people in.
We think crowds about the same overall.
And yes with these prices, flying to Spa is looking affordable……

Yes, I thought that at first, but it looks like it may have been scaled from a game, and games often play around with scale to make things similar-sized, if you scale the small helmet up to match, they are almost the same size, so it might be more faithful than first thought.

The length of a 2004 Formula 1 car was 4.54m vs 5.63m of a 2023 car, that's over a meter, or more than 3.6 feet longer.

Jesus!! That's shocking.. at twice the price of Silverstone three-day grandstand tickets for next year.. I don't get that??

Exactly! I normally go every year since 2015 minus the Covid year but with the huge price increase for the sprint race I skipped this year.

That's so cynical and opportunistic of the promoters.. people should boycott en masse via social media to get the prices back down..

Have you seen the prices for the Las Vegas and Miami GPs? COTA is a bargain compared to those two.

I’m not really sure that changes much as we are still talking about salad. Everything on that menu is grossly overpriced.

Some of the commentary on it is really weird, people complain about the extortionate prices and rather rightly so. Then some people rant about how to criticize charging those prices it to be communist and is evil which is a pretty bizarre take as in Australia they’d get pilloried for taking the piss to that extent.

Lol the boos Max got on the podium and the commentators saying how it's unfortunate. I'm pretty sure it's more to do with Greg Abbott presenting the trophy more than Max being on the podium.

Both of them have a good number of people who don't like them.

Congratulations to Max on win #50. It was a good run at the end by Lewis to chase down Max and make it interesting. Lando also gave it a good run but the McLaren faded at the end.
Poor Charles was screwed by Ferrari's indecision again. ::facepalm1::
