I have been looking for a SS Polerouter for a while. Suddenly received these 2 today😁

The left one is 215-2 the other is 218-2

Since i am only started on UG, any comment on the watches would be welcome👍

Cheers

Gorgeous dials on both of them. Congrats. Also, I learn something new everyday: I would have expected to see Microtor on the 215-2 dial; at first glance, I thought it belonged to a 218 or 69. Thanks for sharing.

(edit; p.s. It's interesting to see the pointy U shield on the 215-2. In my experience, it is the rarer of shield types found on a 215).

Thanks for your response, Severin.
I am now a big fan of Polerouter 👍

Yes very nice! Could you take a picture of the two crowns for future reference? There are many variations and I would love to make sense of it. Do you know if the cyclops crystal is original on the 218-2?

Will send some pixtures of the crown. The date window has the same trapezoid shape and fit very well but i dont see any UG logo on the crystal... so maybe it is not original??

Very nice - congrats on the pair! I'm not a fan of the bubble windows, but the dial and hands on the 218-2 look super sharp.

Here are the crowns as requested 👍
The first one is on the cal 218, which is significantly bigger than the one on the cal 215.

Wow congrats, lovely examples! 👍

Interesting about the dial on the 215-2, thought that the dial with that particular shield comes on the later examples. Can you see any serial number on the case somewhere? Maybe look with loupe under a light in between the lugs if you can't seem to see any!

Hi there
Will definately look for the serial tomorrow. I did a bit of research and found this sample with the same shield and Cal215-2 from Polerouter - collection 😉

Are the 215-2 and 218-2 crowns interchangeable? I have otherwise perfect 218-2 Polerouter Date that has an unmarked replacement crown. I also have a broken 215-2 non-date with an intact case and crown (the 215-2 was smashed — please don't ask what happened — it was tragic). Will the crown on the 215-2 fit the 218-2? I don't want to create a franken but in the interim wearing something more correct would put me at ease. Thoughts?

Firstly, all 215-2 movements had a date function.

Can you post some photos of yours? (movement, dial, and outside of caseback)

Crowns (with tubes) are essentially all interchangeable for polerouters.
However, specific model references came with specific crowns, so despite being all interchangeable they are not all correct.
If you post some photos, and reference/serial numbers, we can chime in on what needs to be done to restore it correctly.

And in reference back to the old OP (in case he is still reading), the left one looks like a completely correct early serial 204610-x (-1 or -6??) and the right looks like a completely correct 204612-1. 😀

I've been telling people this for such a long time - you're the first to believe me 😝
Post a photo of the back, front, sides and movement, measure the plexi diameter, lug width, and case diameter when you receive it, or send a private message with the photos and measurements, and ill try to work out what it is/was/should be. 👍

wow, the cases and lugs on these two look different. @CafeRacer is there a section on the website about the subtle differences in case designs of polerouters?

Not yet - but there might be a short article on it in the future.
Quite a few of the references have some specific case details to tell them apart, but unfortunately its not something that I can write up quickly.
Im trying to keep the site as structured as possible, and going from the big stuff (like what are the different reference numbers, what are the associated geometries for parts), and slowly working in to the details (printing, crosshair, and lume plot changes within references).

Thanks @CafeRacer . You efforts with the site are extraordinary. Can't thank you enough for it

I recently bought this and have my watchmaker specializing in vintage pieces complete service for it. I found the appropriate buckle for it. However, I'm having a difficult time ascertaining the proper crown (and logo). Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
