No Time to Die 007 Seamaster arrived today

I'm news to luxury watches. (I've actually owned the Goldeneye era Seamaster for 20+ years but Omega have really stepped up their game since then ...I don't consider that in the same league as their current offerings)

I'm a big Bond fan but have never felt any interest in needing to own what I see the character wearing. But when I saw the new 007 No Time to Die model I instantly fell in love with it. I didn't even know what fauxtina was, I just thought the color scheme was unique and cool. Omega calls it tropical and that made sense to me. Its very light browns against very dark brown. I love the color and lightness of titanium but the price was off putting.

So I tried to scratch the itch by buying the standard black wave dial model instead. And that worked ....for about a week. The black dial model is gorgeous and I have no actual complaints at all with it ... but I just kept surfing the websites and watching Youtube reviews of the 007 model anyway. .... So I decided to view the black dial standard model as an intro to modern seamasters and a comparison before spending the insane price difference on the 007 model. I discovered I don't want a date function, I don't care about the open case back, and I prefer the matt finish and subtleness of the 007 model to the polish and sparkle of the stainless steel back model.
So I flipped the black model quickly and took a slight loss. It sold within an hour of me listing it online since it was basically brand-new and someone after that model smartly jumped on the deal.

So my dream watched arrived today.
Love everything about it. The domed crystal adds so much to the watch. The constantly changing visual and light distortions make it feel like something special is going on ..... even though I know logically the standard flat with double AR coated glass if objectively much better in every measurable way lol
Its worth noting for those wondering if the weight difference makes the price worth it. The answer is no - if you prefer nato straps. The weight of the standard model is really in the bracelet. On nato straps the difference is something like 75 to 105. .... I can not tell any difference at all on the wrist. But I do prefer the brushed titanium color.

No regrets at all about taking the small hit and paying the huge upgrade fee....but who knows ...maybe talk to me in a week 😁

Oh, and the case it comes with is awesome and is actually useful, as opposed to the normal box which looks really nice but is a useless space hog.

Here it is on a Strapify 'great grey' nato .... because I find Omega's straps too bulky and stiff and the color choice bizarrely in-your-face for a watch where the case/dial/bezel are about matt subtleness.

Wear & enjoy in good health! 👍 Had a chance to check it out at AD and it's definitely one of my favorite Seamasters. Couldn't believe how light it was on the titanium bracelet!

I like mine a lot. Bought it on the bracelet but ordered the Nato from Omega.
Same: i bought both bracelet and NATO, but the NATO is still in its wrapper😎. The bracelet is so light and comfortable despite the bulky clasp. The lume is awesome.

I got mine yesterday as well. Cannot stop looking at it and so pleased I had no problems with the bracelet fit or reading the dial as a few have mentioned in these forums. Only my second Omega SMP but I found my previous black faced 2018 bracelet edition so uncomfortable and heavy for me that I sold it after a few months. This one is a delight to wear and worth every penny to me.

My local jeweler showed me one that he had special ordered for someone in late summer. It is beautiful! Congrats

Funny, I went in the opposite direction. The NTTD was my first Seamaster 300M, and while I liked the overall dimensions I just couldn't get over the super-reflective crystal which combined with the matte dial, meant I couldn't even see my $9,000 watch! I got rid of it within a week, the shortest time I've ever owned a watch. Traded it for a Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic 1958 and never looked back... until I realized that it made me want a 300M.
So, some months later, I relented and bought the standard steel, black wave dial model and am 100% in love! I'm not usually one for 'shiny' watches but the way the ceramic dial often catches the light is just truly lovely. I honestly think it's one of the better watches on sale today, and that's just made even better by the fair price and the fact that you can go try one on and buy it anywhere - no AD waitlist BS or purposeful supply shortages to deal with.

Congrats fellow NTTD owner!
And The bracelet does look like it fits you well.

To each their own and the standard model is definitely gorgeous.
I did read your posts and dig around the net trying to find anything that matched because it was a little concerning. While there are a few comments acknowledging it’s a little more reflective than the standard model - and that’s my experience as well - you seem to have been sold some sort of mirrored dome prototype different to everyone else’s…

I wear reading glasses and was worried that I might have difficulty in low light seeing the time without my glasses as the face and indices were a bit more of a muted colour. I also read that the crystal had only AR on the inside and that this made the crystal more reflective. I’ve had no problems whatsoever in any light though, as even just a slight tilt of the watch makes the hands shine as they are brushed titanium in very low light. Love this watch and could not be more surprised of how much better it was after expecting a few negatives. With my reading glasses on though the detail in the dial is just stunning.

Yeah, mine was an early model so I do wonder if they've updated it. No matter though; I have gone back and tried them on again and still don't quite appreciate it the same. I just think it's funny that we've gone in the exact opposite directions 😀

Really digging this single pass nato.
First single pass I’ve used on any watch and am now questioning why one would ever want the second strap!?

Had to go out and when I got back into the dark garage a glow caught my eye.

This brown sailcloth 2 piece strap from Strapcode has become popular with NTTD 007 watch owners and i couldn’t resist either.
Really only intended to go nato but the extra effort to get this standard 2 piece style strap on there is with it imo

I'm torn between wanting this to be the exclusive "Bond watch" for the next few films so I am forced to buy one or for it to never be seen on screen again so I can safely resist temptation 😜

I hope that lumed bezel becomes an option for reg seamasters, either in ceramic or in aluminum. Be nice to have an option to swap bezels to really change up the look of my SMP (not that I really expect Omega to let us have more than one bezel insert).
