Dear OF - for your consideration out of my personal collection, a beautiful 1978 Rolex Submariner 1680. The watch is all original and in fantastic condition. The lume plots on the dial have turned to a very nice creamy patina. I replaced the crystal during full overhaul service a few years ago, with a domed crystal which makes the watch come to life. And, finally, the main reason I bought the watch, is the case. The case looks nearly unpolished to me, the lugs are very thick with factory brushed finish still visible on the lugs.

More Details:
I purchased the watch a few years ago as I was really attracted to the case, I had never seen a case this honest and thick on a Submariner. These are tool watches and were made to serve purpose, which means they get beat up over time. This watch has been extremely well preserved, the dial is flawless, no missing lume, or blemishes on the dial. The hands are original tritium which have aged a hair darker than the dial. This is quite common for this era Subs, as the hands were produced by different manufacturers than the dials. Honestly, when I see perfectly matching hands it sends alarm bells in my head.

Bezel Insert: The insert is a perfect compliment to the watch, as it has aged to a grey/bluish tint. It’s absolutely gorgeous and compliments the watch quite nicely and gives it a nice vintage vibe.

Bracelet: comes with a very tight, beautifully brushed period correct 93510 with 580 endlinks. The bracelet has very little stretch for it’s age.

Service: As I mentioned, the watch went through a full overhaul a few years ago, this is evident by looking at the crown tube which is sparkling clean and void of gunk or oxidation, as is the case with most vintage Rolex’s. It keep great time and full power reserve.

Overall: Honestly, why pay $10K more for a Red Sub when you can buy a really nice white sub. You would be hard pressed to find an honest all original Submariner in better condition. It’s been well cared for and is ready to be worn and enjoyed.

Price: Asking $15,250 wired, fully insured with overnight delivery within CONUS. I will not ship to a PO Box. For international deliveries, I will not declare a lower value as it voids my insurance.

Return Policy: I will gladly take the watch back within 24 hrs. if grossly misrepresented.
