Well the dial is wrong for a 74.... that’s a late 1977 through 80’s dial. Additionally looks like the dial has had the lume washed off.

need to see the other side of the clasp to tell you.

Pics are lousy, would need much better to give any kind of assessment. Don’t see a step on the dial, Lume may be there but again- pics suck.
Try to see if the seller can provide pics in outdoor light.

No step on most 74’s. But the font is wrong for -74’s and most -76’s. The S should stop before the bottom of the p. So this is a late-76 production from late 77 through the mid 80’s.

He might of made a mistake on the year. He'll have his watchmaker open it up. From what I've read, the 74 came with stepped and domed dials. But judging from the bracelet alone, it's definitely not 71 if the watch is all original.

Thanks for pointing that out. As long as this is not a frankenwatch it's all good. I want it to be all original for the year it was produced. Waiting for the serial number.

Plus not sure the box is consistent with that year. I've seen these boxes with earlier models and not with late 70s. Could be wrong.

If the dial is original I’d expect a late 39m serial number at the earliest.

Wich will date the watch to 76. The bezel is not consistent with the year... Is it?

So... Looks like a 76. Unmarked caseback and very clean cal 861 with serial number in the 37mill. After doing some research, all looks good to me. Not the clearest pics.

The case edges look a bit soft, might have been polished at some stage.

My ‘76 speedy serial number starts ‘39’. Is it possible to have a ‘76 with serial number starting ‘37’?

Are those pics not sitting on an extract? Is it for this watch? Are there pics of the extract?

According to everything I've checked, it's a 76.
Csse, serial, dial, bezel, bracelet....
