1970 Omega Speedmaster Professional 145.022-69 Pre-Moon Tropical Chocolate Dial

Really nice Pre-Moon Speedmaster with a chocolate dial. All component part reference numbers are from Moonwatch Only.

Reference: 145.022-69

Year: 1970

Serial #: 296021##

Case: 42mm

Lug Width: 20mm

Caseback: A4 – Hipposcampus in center still very clear and legible, single bevel, scratching from previous poor caseback removal

Dial: C1 – Original even tropical / chocolate brown, stepped dial, flaking on some of the lume plots, correct serial number for a chocolate dial

Hands: Original hands, the lume has turned to a dark brown / black, some of the paint on the hands have come off

Bezel: B3 – very clean, DNN bezel

Crystal: Appears to be an aftermarket replacement crystal, a few deeper scratches in the crystal

Crown & Pushers: A3 Crown – all original crown (24 teeth, 7mm) and pushers (5mm x 3.5mm)

Bracelet: 1171 with 633 end links, fits up to a 7.5” wrist, spring bars are really worn and difficult to remove

Movement: Caliber 861, no service history, in need of service, running ~20-25 seconds fast per day (dial up), power reserve is only ~14 hours, hour register does not reset – I have not had the watch serviced as I wanted to allow the buyer to send it to their trusted vintage watchmaker

Condition: Really good overall condition with nearly all original components - see pictures for more detail

Price: $5,000 shipped CONUS - Direct bank wire preferred. PayPal ok, gift payment only. Shipped via FedEx Overnight, insured.

References: I have bought and sold several watches on the Omega Forums, The Rolex Forums, and WUS, please search my username on the forums.

Please reach out to me with any questions via PM. Please let me know if you need any additional pictures.

Thanks,
LT

Well this should not last long.
What a lovely watch
Correct serial for the dial, matching patina.
One for Simon Freese I think....

Yes. 3 within an hour.
Really sorry about that, I can take the other ones down, as necessary. Didn't intend to break the rules.

Yes, they are but that's no excuse. 3 listings within an hour, @SpeedTar bumping 2 listings within 2 hours as did @primabaleron, it has gotten ridiculous.
Again, sorry for the oversight. I am happy to have the mods delete the posts and I will re-post them at the appropriate time. Trust me, I don't like to break any rules...

Phew. Thank god I woke up in the UK to see this one already sold.
That removed the huge temptation that would have been there to buy.

Congrats to seller and buyer.
Very nice chocolate dial.
