Thanks so much great advice and help. When I pull it out the crown a second time should it just move on a day on the date itself? It doesn't do that as far as I can tell.
The cal 564, with the quick-set date is considered by most Omega collectors as the apogee of their vintage chronometer rated movts.
The quickset complication is considered as a bit fragile depending how it is used but all in all it is a fabulous movt.
My understanding about the quickset feature is that pulling the crown out to the second position when the hands are between 10:00 and 2:00 risks jamming or breakage. I hope you’re starting to warm to the idea of keeping and wearing this very handsome watch, after a proper service of course.

After a service if you even look at the watch it starts ticking / very little movement needed for it to run. Superb movement :0)

Here is the watch with a new leather strap on it. Looks quite smart.

Quick question - what could I polish the glass with to remove/reduce the minor scratches?

Polywatch is what I use although some on OF use other products, including toothpaste (although I don’t know which brand)

Which polywatch do you use. There seems to be a plastic and polish version. Are they both the same?
