Up for sale is a 1968 Grand Seiko “45GS” 4522-8000.

The Grand Seiko 4522-8000 is part of the legendary “45GS” series of Grand Seiko watches produced by Daini Seikosha between 1968 and 1973 during the golden era of Japanese watchmaking.

It features a highly admired high-beat (36,000 vph) manual wind movement
and the iconic “grammar of design” angular design case designed by Taro Tanaka.

Condition Report:
• Reference/Year: 4522-8000 with a September 1968 production date.
• Case: Nice honest condition case.
• Dial: Clean dial, slight staining visible with a loupe (and in photos) on edge between 7 and 9
• Hands/Indices: original dauphine style hands retaining their black painted stripe. Under magnification, slight spotting is visible at various places on hands and plots.
• Crown: original Grand Seiko crown
• Crystal: Great condition
• Caseback: great condition with all engravings clearly legible. Strong, intact 18K gold
Grand Seiko medallion.
• Movement: high-beat caliber 4522A manual wind movement, quickset date. All
functions perform as expected. Date snaps over as expected.
• Service History: Keeping good vintage time. Fully serviced upon purchase in May 2026, -13sec/day upon receipt
of watch. 217 amplitude, 0.4ms beat error (56 lift angle) using Tick IQ app.

Please review photos carefully as they represent the best representation of condition.

Asking $1,300 to see this go to a new home. Will include USPS priority shipping within the US. Other shipping options to be discussed.

No returns unless misrepresented.

I have purchased and sold multiple watches on the forum with no negative feedback.

Thank you for the space!
