··Melbourne AustraliaHello, I’m new to forums. New to watch knowledge. I read the “ how to post information “ however I can’t get the back off as I have no jewelry tools and I’m not a jeweler. I inherited this watch. I’m positive it’s authentic because it was gifted by the original purchaser to my mother after her friend died. It’s never been worn except for the picture. I have the box it came in as well as the outer box, tag and booklet with the information written on the back. Which reads A5752 14k gold 1966 purchase date. I intend to sell it for my medical care. Im in process of learning how, where and at what price and this is my first stop. I’ve seen similar watches for $2000-$6000. I’ve not been able to find this watch online recently, but I did see one like it complete like mine, online two years ago and it sold for over $6000. Unfortunately, I didn’t save that sale information. I’d appreciate some feedback on how and where to safely sell. Your patience is appreciated as I’m disabled and it takes a right deal to post. Thank you.
Firstly, I'm sorry to hear that you need to sell the watch to help with medical costs, secondly, thanks for a good post with some background/history and lots of photos 👍.
Unfortunately ladies watches aren't "collectable" in the same sense as vintage gents watches, in fact there is practically no collector interest in these items.
There may be the odd buyer or two looking for a nice vintage ladies watch to wear, so that would be the market you are looking for.
Now to the watch.
The bracelet is an after market Spiedel flexi-style and is worth almost nothing, they were sold by the millions for very low prices and often used as replacements when the original strap wore out.
I suspect your watch originally had a cord style strap and these wore out quite quickly.
The watch itself, if actually 14K, is nowhere worth the prices you mentioned and I suspect it would only fetch less than $1000, but some US members may be able to clarify.
You may be able to get an idea of value by searching sold listings on eBay for similar watches and if you are going to sell then eBay may be the best place to capture the biggest audience.

·Correct ; but the price of US$ 1000 is still too high. If you find a buyer at all, it will be more than 600-800. These " Cocktail" watches attract next to no interest these days. Women wear big watches as well. The only way to sell this will be at an Asian auction house, I guess. But that is only a guess because of box and papers. . I hope, I'm wrong and you find it easy to sell. Kind regards. Achim

·I’m showing an Omega Sapphette ladie’s watch that I bought about 10 years ago. I bought it from a vintage watch dealer who had offered it for sale for many years. No buyers! The case is 14-karat white gold, it has the synthetic sapphire crystal, 17-jewels, manually wound, and is close to the same vintage as yours. As near as I have been able to determine, the watch has been worn rarely, if ever. The shape is called “marquise”. I paid $169.00 US for it! That is scrap gold value, before gold got to the price it is at, today. This is one of three 14-karat gold ladie’s Omega watches I have bought over the years. I paid scrap gold values for each of them! That is, less than $200.00 each! Men don’t collect women’s watches, and women generally collect a lot of different types of things, but not watches. It is not my intention to pour cold water over your plans to sell it, but it won’t bring anywhere near the prices you are quoting! Sorry!
