··Prolific Speedmaster HoarderWe often make glib remarks, alluding to the concept that the Omega factory just threw watches together using up old hands dials and parts, because they were "lying around" or there was a desire to "use up what was lying around"
When I think about the Swiss nature, and manufacturing methods, it does not fit.
Then in my conversations with older watchmakers, more than one has told me stories of speedmasters serviced in small batches and parts, including casebacks from different references, swapped at final assembly because it was not considered important.
On the subject of non pro dials leaving the factory in Assymetric cases, well I do not believe it happened.
The op watch is a franken.
