·For Sale-1962 RCAF Omega HA62, asking USD$ 18,000. 38mm
The RCAF 100th anniversary is rapidly approaching, 01 April 2024. Don’t miss your opportunity to acquire this rare piece of history.
RARE 1962 RCAF Omega HA62 single pusher chronograph. This version of the RCAF Omega was issued to RCAF Aircrew from about 1962-1967, after which Breitling won the contract. The dial, hands, crown and pusher are original. Lovely caseback with full RCAF military serial number, and I have Not polished this so it retains all of the 'history' the pilot put there.
While most published sources quote that 940 Omega HA62s were produced, in actual fact there were only 443 Omega HA62s watches produced (about 150 Destroyed-from Omega Museum).
This makes them rarer than initially thought, being one of the smallest production runs of Military Chronographs.
There are only about 290 x HA62s left in the world, thus exceedingly rarer than the Lemania Viggen, Breitling 817s etc, which are now trading at about 20k.
This chronograph is accompanied with a Letter of Provenance, from a Cf-104 Starfighter Pilot.
The dial and original lume have a lovely patina. The chrono function is crisp. 38mm across excluding crown, 20mm lugs. It comes on a Black two piece nylon strap.
This Omega is powered by the Omega 2221 (Lemania) hacking movement. This movement is unique to the RCAF Omega with none in any civilian chronographs. I have had the movement serviced.
USD$ 18,000 plus Fedex Courier. Wire Transfer preferred. Paypal add 4%. Returns only if not as described or pictured. I do NOT guarantee water proofing of this vintage timepiece.
