Hello,
I am looking at potentially buying a Seamaster 300 14755-1, with an Omega archive extract. This dates the watch to 1961. Movement number 18.xxx.xxx. All looks pretty good, however the watch has candlestick hands, which is a bit confusing to me.
Can this be correct / authentic? The seller indicates this is a transitional model.
Thank you for your help.

Here are the photos - somehow it does not work from my mobile, so I had to use my PC...

Movement looks amazingly clean, but the extract confirms this belongs to the watch. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

He has a history with this forum and has sold franken, redials (without telling the buyer so) or has claimed a watch was serviced when it actually was not and has not given buyers the proper attention if the watch presented issues.

There were also people who complained here about it. If you read the link, you will understand more.

Best,

Rudi

Ps.: Oh, and good luck with your hunt. I am no expert but the movement does look actually good to me and it might even be ok but I wanted to let you know.

Edit: spelling mistake

What's the first number in the serial number after 18? For a 14755-1 it should be a 2, in which case the dial and hands have been replaced with later versions. The seller is using some "sales talk" here, a 14755-1 can't be a transitional model when the -2, -61 and -62 all came after it before the change to 165014.

Ok, it actually does. What is the problem exactly?
Lots of threads about him. Most here dont buy from him out of principle. I must say he became quite big with his vintage portfolio. A lot of watches for sale. He also tried to buy a couple of watches from me in the past (if I remember correctly) by lowballing a bit.
