1960s Vintage Omega Seamaster 300, 14755-1 or 165.024?

Hi all, hoping someone could give me some advice on a vintage Seamaster 300 that I've uncovered. From the look of it it appears to be a 165.024 with batton hands; however the movement dates it 1961 which feels quite early for this model and the case back says 14755-1 (which appears to match with an entirely different dial). From my understanding of the watch's provenance I would be really surprised if there has been any mismatching of parts).

I've attached a few photos that I've taken in a lightbox, would really welcome thoughts from anyone with experience of this area.

I am a total newbie when it comes to SM300's, but from the little I know, the dial and hands are that of a 165.024.
One would assume you have a 14755 and these were swapped over at a service?

I'll wait for more knowledgeable members to chime in, but I could do with a pair of those hands!

Could the case, dial and hands be from a 165.014?

How do you know that? If you tell us the serial number or post a picture of the movement, we could tell you more.

Will get a photo of the movement to upload. The serial number starts 1803XXXX and the movement is marked as 552

This watch probably went to Omega for service at one point during the 70's or even 80's and got a later service dial and hands.

Ok thanks for that. Any idea whether something like this has much value? I know that the 165.024 models can fetch quite high prices... is the early 14755-1 case / movement desirable or does it make it a lower value Frankenstein? Relatively new to this stuff so any advice really welcome!

The crown looks wrong. Not a big deal to change.

Personally I love this dial, hand, case combination. If the price is reasonable I'd buy it, but then again I buy watches I like and just wear them, don't really think about resale.

Personally I'd like to own a watch that was period correct through and through.
Crowns and crystals that a service replacements not so much an issue but a mismatch of case, dial, hands and movement definately a no go.
