1960s Hamilton Watch Service Recommendations

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience getting a vintage Hamilton watch serviced? I have a 1960s Hamilton Masterpiece Thin-o-matic in need of service. The watch runs, but it does not have a crown or stem, and probably needs some movement work, gasket replacements, etc. I had an AD with a service department look at it (they sell brands from Hamilton to Omega to Vacheron), and they ended up sending it to the Swatch Service Department (I believe in NJ). Unfortuantely they don't have the parts anymore.

Any recommendations on indepdentent watch makers that may be able to service the watch? Anyone have any experience with Swatch HQ in Switzerland servicing vintage watches?

Thanks!

Where are you located? If in the USA check out the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) business listing on their website.

If you live near Texas, you might give Chris Abell a call, he is competent and easy to work with.
