Just thinking I may put a bid in on this 1958 Seamaster.

Like me, it’s showing it’s age but, apart from the obvious age related dial issues, is there anything jaw-droppings obvious that I’m missing?

I see some corrosion on the hands and some minor pitting on the edge of the movement (not on the rotor though). Lugs may have been polished. Better photos would be helpful.

The rotor may have contacted the case. The marks and marring on the movement has me wondering if there is any other abuse from a less-skilled service person.

Apologies to the OP for hijacking this thread for a general question. Out of curiosity as it was brought up as issue in one of my recent posts: Doesn't the fact that the hands carry lume also require lume on the dial or is it model specific and not a general requirement?

The little line in the middle of the markers contains lume on this one.

Thanks for clarifying. The markers looked like black onyx to my untrained eyes.
