I recently picked up a 1958 Seamaster 2964 on ebay, and have started the process to clean it up. My hour markers all have these dark spots on the end. Is this radium lume that's turned dark?

Yes that’s radium. Be careful how and where you clean it.
If you don’t have the correct tools/equipment and knowledge it might be better giving it to a watchmaker or leaving it as is.

Thank you. I'm going to re-evaluate what my plans are for this watch.

As @Davidt mentioned, it's almost certainly radium, unless it was replaced at some time in the past, which is unlikely. I would definitely treat it like radium.

Thanks for the reply. I've got this sealed back up and put aside. I also went ahead and ordered a geiger counter, probably should have done that before touching this watch.
