I'm assuming this is a replacement face as everything else looks in line to me with this watch. Should I go for this or stay away?

Hi @dgdd982 - welcome to OF, feel free to tell more about you and your watch interest.

It's a gold plated ref. 2577 with a repainted dial.
Whether or not you should stay clear is up to you 馃榾

Thanks! I was comfortable with the movement, but had not seen a dial like that. I was thinking it had been touched up.

I am pretty new to watches. I have a few, but nothing spectacular. I am really drawn to these old watches, and I like the looks of them compared to the modern one's. I don't even mind the patina that comes with them. It's part of the charm. In a crazy was so is little things people have done to them in their 60+ years of life. I want them to wear and have a conversation about. I'm not so concerned about the value or 100% originality.

If I were you, I'd pass. A redial with a nice story behind it might be worth considering if the watch is priced accordingly, but based on the photos this watch is probably being offered by a dealer trying to get as much money as they can from an unsuspecting buyer.

a redial is not a big deal if you are going to wear the watch , its not a safe queen , my only requirement is the refinished dial looks close to the original.. this 1 is a solid pass , crown not original either

The dial is very unappealing to me. Did you notice the faint 24-hour markers?
