Hi all,

picked up this tissot the other week. Got it serviced and running great. Did a number check and found it’s a 1950 model. Love the dial, linen with crosshairs and I love the indices. It reminds me of my 1963 seamaster 30.

has anyone had or have one of these? What are your impressions. Mechanically and athletically it’s gorgeous but tissot went cheap with chrome plating.

Serviced? 😕

Hope the photo is earlier than the service.

I think the logo on the dial is much later than the 50s

I concur with the above. Should have the more classic "Tissot" signature if it dates from the 1950s. Calling @Vitezi

As others have pointed out, there's something not quite right with that watch. The reference 6442 does indeed date to the early 1950s, as does your movement. These were from Tissot's "extra-flat" collection and were typically 35mm chrome or gold-fill cases and usually contained a manual-wind caliber 27B-2. So I think your case and movement belong together.

However, the dial logo and marker style on your watch dates to the early 1960s, after Tissot changed from its "signature" style logo (used from the 1930s to 1959) to the sans-serif -T- logo in 1960. I suspect a dial swap.

Your dial should look more like this:

The movement shot was from when I first picked it up. Yeah it was out really bad. Runs really well now. At the time the balance pivot was worn out. New balance and it’s really good.

trust you eagle eye.

Holy crap, yeah definitely will. Once I know exactly what came from it I will start looking for original replacements. unfriginbelevable.
