·Up for sale is an uncommonly large, fully original 1947 Longines. Needless to say, the 38mm steel case has serious wrist presence! The dial has patina but remains attractive. The 27M movement runs, winds, and sets but is running slow. Full details are below, and don’t hesitate to message me with questions.
Dial: Original, non-refinished dial has developed a light, fairly even patina. There are small marks throughout the dial however it remains attractive. At some point the minute hand appears to have dragged on the dial near 10-12, but it is not happening currently.
Case: Original 38mm stainless steel case is in nice, seemingly unpolished condition. I believe it is a 5581 reference though I can’t confirm since the ‘40s cases were unmarked and I don’t have the Longines archive. There’s some small damage on the outside of the top-left lug.
Crown: Original, unsigned crown. Unlike most other Longines references from the era, these large 27M models had small crowns like this. The crown has some wear but it functions fine.
Crystal: Crystal is free of scratches. Unclear if it’s the original as they weren’t originally signed.
Movement: Original 27M movement runs, winds, and sets, however it is running slow and needs a service.
Strap: Comes on the 19mm leather strap pictured. I also have a 19mm Gay Freres rivet bracelet available at extra cost.
Asking $1,200 shipped worldwide from the US. Bank transfer/Wise (or similar) for payment. OF seller reviews are here. Returns are accepted if the watch is grossly misrepresented.
