Hi all, im new to the forum, so forgive me if I should have posted this in another thread. I've had trouble identifying this circa 1945 18k wind-up model. It was my great grandfather's, he always loved omega, i have his '61 seamaster deville and '63 pie-pan constellation. Any ideas on what this watc is and should I restore it?

What I can tell is that most likely it has a cal 28 (or 360) in it and that all looks original except the dial.

The dial has been restored some time in the past

It might take as little as a service and a new or polished crystal to make the watch look lovely again. Do you happen to know if it's in working condition?

Whether you decide to restore it will depend on what your goal is. Something to wear once in a while that reminds you of your grandfather? Or are you hoping a restoration would pay for itself when you sell the watch?

And by all means post pictures of your great grandfather’s other watches.

Thanks kkt, it is in mostly working order, but the crown isn't engaging to wind it. It runs for a short time when i shake it. Id hate to put more than a few hundred into it if it's only worth the scrap value...

My gut feeling is that a few hundred currency units will probably do the trick.
