1940s Omega advice

Over the last few days I've been helping my father look for a 60s Omega dress watch. The advice on here has been brilliant and I've learnt a lot. Thank you ... Our search continues.

As I've been searching various auctions and private sellers, I came across something I fancy for myself. It's a 1940s 18ct rose gold watch. I've ran the serial and case reference numbers and it dates to 1944 (serial number 10671226 and case number 10646087).

The watch dial looks in good condition (although pictures are not the best) and I can't see Swiss or Swiss Made under the 6. From reading up, it appears that some 40s watches didn't have this? I've asked the seller if the dial has been refurbished. He thinks everything is original.

There is also some mark on the side of the case. Seller thinks it could be the gold stamp. However, I think it looks like damage.

What does everyone think of this watch, anything concerning?

And how much would the value be, roughly?

Thanks.

Thank you!

I think current bidding is at £500 for this.

That dial is terrible, especially the sub-dial. And the Omega font is totally wrong for that era, not to mention sloppy and uneven. If you take the time to study dials, eventually you will eliminate watches like this from consideration in a few seconds, and move on.

I knew something was off with the dial and questioned the seller about it. Told original. I'm not experienced enough to evaluate definitely... When in doubt, ask on here. Thank you, Dan.

Some sellers play games with semantics to offload their junk. The dial may be "original", but repainted. An honest seller won't play those games.
