What is the caliber Inside (the ref is engraved under the balance wheel but I can't read it)

I think this is a 23.7, probably T2 or T3.

Regarding condition of the movement, sorry to disagree with you Horlogerie but I regard this as a VERY tired movement. I have watches 30 years older than this in much better condition.

I appreciate that your role as a watchmaker is the function – is it running and if not let’s get it running. Any Omega of this age that is running acceptably must have some value – but I’m afraid it’s no more than that.

Hi,
I saw this one. Not an Omega case, the caliber is a 26.5 (I suppose, it could also be a 23.7, we ´ll see when you receive it) but not a T 17. T17 is a form (rectangular) caliber. It has non matching hour/minute hands. It is an interesting donnor if the dial is not cracked.

Interesting thanks. I noticed the non-matching "Breguet" hands and thought they were quite quirky..which one is original? The dial and movement seems to be in really quite good condition. You're right it'll probably be a small 26.5 if the sellers description is to be believed..a ladies watch by todays standards but I , unlike many folk here, don't have a problem with wearing an vintage mans watch even if it is small by todays standards.I'm a watch fan and not a dedicated follower of fashion. So I'll also probably get it repaired and wear it in my rotation "as is".I'm unlikely to find another one at this price in this condition anytime soon and as money is a bit tight buying a donor isn't the direction I'm going in. If it proves unfixable, I'll probably keep it just to look at the porcelain dial..What I was asking about the T17 is if this round watch movement has somehow been encouraged to fit into a T17 casing from a few years later? I really like the 'Metropolis" edged plains and symmetry of this particular casing...Think Flash Gordon circa 1935! . If it is not original to the watch I might even, ahem, (shock horror) "tidy up" the ancient pitting a bit.... (cue offstage voices: "Heretic! Burn him , burn him!").. I am an amateur collector of Omega and other old Swiss mechanicals, but I wouldn't call myself a purist. I really can't afford to be. All the watches I decide to keep, I try to wear in rotation...Getting tricky as I keep more than i sell on. Also with Winter coming (and I cycle a lot) there's a few that might get dusty lodged safely in the display case until nicer weather comes around again.
I will however, get some pictures posted here when I get it before any "drastic" action lol!
