so I saw this on the bay and thought that’s a great looking piece. I don’t know a thing about it but I remembered the sellers name and went through my history and I had a bad experience with this guy over a year ago. He was selling a fake Omega that everyone here said to not buy. He insisted it wasn’t but it was on closer inspection. Anyway I wanted to hear thoughts on this piece since I can’t trust this seller now https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Ancie...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055359.m1431.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Not super familiar with these, however my first impression would be that the case has seen some level of refinishing. I think @kyle L has one of these.
Case has been tarted up as noted, but I don't think beyond recovery. The rest looks OK to my untrained eye. I'd be very tempted, but the AUD$ is my penalty, and 6 days to go.
Would agree the case looks to have been worked on but the rest looks original to me What are the chances of coming across a 1930s omega marine in full set like this
Having done some quick research I now think the minute hand looks incorrect and the back clasp looks too small Should possibly extend the full length of the case back But this is a late model for the omega marine first produced in 1932 the later marine standard being introduced in 1939 It’s possible this was a modification on the later models My above comments still stand as to the scarcity as a full set
