hello, I am new to this forum, and the omega life. My name is Nick. I have two omegas, one of them being this one shown in the pictures. I know nothing about it, and it needs a new hairspring. The old one snapped, but I do not know what size movement it is, so I am unable to find one to fix it. I believe its from the early 20s if not earlier. it did run for about 15 minutes after a cleaning until the spring snapped. If anyone has any information on this watch or a spring for sale that should work, please let me know.

Hairspring or Mainspring?

If you need a new mainspring you can remove the old one, measure it (Length/Width/Thickness) and try to find a generic size that will fit.

Cousins UK has a good selection.

Who cleaned the watch? You really need a watchmaker to work on it, they will be able to assess the issues and source parts. It is not really a DYI project. You can often find recommendations for watchmakers in your are by searching the site, or just asking.

i had a professional watchmaker do it. he said the balance spring broke, and that he cannot find parts for it, because the movement is unstamped.

Makes sense, sorry I can't help. This is way outside my knowledge base. Hopefully others can help.

The movement can be removed from the case and measured. That will give you a good guide to what caliber it is.
Once you have that, you can search for a "balance assembly complete" for the base caliber and later variations.

Have your watchmaker contact this guy:

https://www.henningwatches.com

Do not do it yourself, he won't talk to you. He services the trade only.

He won't be vibrating a new balance spring...not part of his services.

This - the first step is correctly identifying the movement, which the watchmaker should have done as part of the service.

Then the search for parts can begin.
