NEW Vintage Watch Help 1920s!!!!

Hello all!!

Ive recently started my OMEGA journey purchased my first OMEGA watch!! It's a lovely piece, gold plated from the 1920 with a see through front and back case, I believe this is called skeleton?

I'm new to OMEGA so don't have any information or knowledge of my watch as it doesn't come with box/papers/receipt.

SO my request is can somebody tell me a little bit more about my timepiece please 😀

In a word Nasty. I hope you have the means to send it back.

It is neither from the 1920s nor Omega output.

Just nope.

Not 1920s. Not factory Omega.

They certainly tried a little too hard with all the "Omega" markings and the Omega symbols.

Worst of all, it is Chinese made! Send it back, move it on to another newbie, or use it for target practise.

Just took a quick glance, I don’t see any Chinese or China on it.
Care to share how did you indicate it as “Chinese made” buddy?

Yea it could have been made anywhere but isn't real Omega, watch production in China is actually getting pretty impressive with independents like Logan Kuan Rao, LYH, Atelier Wen, Qian GuoBiao putting out top tier products at prices similar or slightly above Omega.

The perception that made in China means cheap may still be around, but even significant parts of a GT2RS are made in China to standards Porsche is happy with these days so it no longer applicable. Even @Trev's new high end audio setup uses a top tier Chinese made amplifier.

It "could" be a vintage Omega movement (500 series auto?) where the plate and bridges have been artistically skeletonised, similar to the pocket watch mariage watches produced in the Ukraine some years ago. Then it's been put in a case with Omega embellishments.
It never came from an Omega factory.
Omega did makes skeletonised watches (BA 163.0303 and others) but you would pay significantly (many thousands) more for one of them than you would have paid for that example

Atelier Wen stuff looks pretty good. Chinese manufacturing and logistics capabilities are top notch. It's middle-men who want bigger profit margins importing junk-tier stuff. Doesn't Omega manufacture a bunch of parts in China now? Seems so.

I thought the same at first. The movement is more generic with a ball bearing rotor. Could be AS even ETA or a 'generic' copy. The skeletonization is only an illusion. It is only the dial that is cut through.

I doubt the product is from China. My dad brought stuff back from cruses. The quality high. This looks to have been made for a quick denaris, seturti or banana. Might be eastern europe or even russia. So easy these days to point fingers and lay blame. South Asia is just as likely, although there work can be quite good as well.

It's pretty fancy looking, and some work was definitely involved in making it. Things have been heavily modified so it's hard to say if there is anything associated with Omega in that watch, but probably not.

However, it's a counterfeit watch, which should bother you. Also, Omega never made anything resembling this in any way, so it's an obvious fake. Moreover, if you wanted an old watch, this watch is not old. Personally I feel it's hideous, but that's just personal opinion.

Hopefully it was very cheap or you can get your money back. Depending on where you purchased it, you may be able to report it as counterfeit and force a return.

Looks like the little plate that they stuck to the rotor with the Omega symbol on it has come unstuck...

The "Omega count" on this is impressive - I count the name or symbol on this watch 16 times!

An automatic from the 1920's?
It's a Chinese automatic from the 2020's.

Those cheap faux blued-screws are very much chinese. They are made of watered-down-ice-cubes and colored blue with a sharpie.

I think @rendo is right with the movement, thats exactly what it is from what I can see.

Also, LOL @ the fake-plate badly-glued on the rotor 😁
