Seeking your advice regarding my "almost" dream watch. Found this in eBay.

Likes
- mint condition, sharp case. Really good for a 18k soft material.
- original mint dial (don't mind having the date window, miss the tiny 3 marker)
- mint condition movement (161)

Dislikes
- after market strap and buckle
- markers look painted black and not onyx( my fav)
- wish movement was 164 with the quick date.(will not be a safe queen)
-may be tempted to cheat on her for a deluxe model

Queries
- Any warning signs I missed? Shouldn't 66 be onyx and not paint?
- are crowns ever solid gold in these models? If yes how to make sure they are original/ correct gold replacements?
- dream watch but don't want to pay dream price, what will be close to the fair market value? Will help as it's an auction.
Posting the eBay link here. Hope one of you grab it. I have a feeling it will be way too expensive for me.

Definitely not a mint case by any stretch of the imagination.
Lugs quite soft, bezel very soft.
Tired looking movt.

There isn’t one good quality image to look at but I think they are onyx inserts.
You can just about see ridges in this pic.

Thank you. I guess need more practice. How can you tell bezel is soft. It doesn't have any ridges to assess right?

The listing has better resolution photos. This one shows both the soft bezel and lugs clearly:

Wow. Thank you. Now I can tell the difference is stark. This forum is jacking up my standards📖.
I started with wanting to buy the cheapest omega in eBay with a decent dial which is not a Frankenstein. Didn't even know the line ups then. Then I didn't want to settle for anything less than a chronometer. Then made up my mind it had to be a 'then top of the line' constellation series. Now I am getting too picky about the case condition. Guess I will end up with a collectors piece worth more than my car🙄.

Plz give you opinion on this one
I know it has its flows. It's quite polished. Movement has its share of stains and ? Surface rust. I have a offer for $700. Is it a decent deal or should I wait.
The avg monthly pay in India is around 350 dollars. So I don't want to spend a huge amount on my 1 St watch off a online seller.

Refinished dial, suspect case, ugly movement.

PASS.

Very hard to evaluate anything on these pictures, but my impression is that the 18k has a serial Nr 34 xxx : if so, this can't be a '66 : reassembled watch ?

@drpaul
I know you generally only have the information you’re given to work with but it is impossible to assess a watch properly without good quality pictures (everything is in the detail).
The eBay pics were bad enough but these last ones are almost pointless.

Thank you every one. I had opened a separate thread with better resolution photos added to it. The matter was discussed to conclusion that it is a watch with a redone/counterfeit dial and a counterfeit case. Posting this for the benifit of people reading about it here.

I've been looking at the first watch (18k gold) on eBay as well. It's at $3,100 already. Too expensive for my wallet. I was hoping to get this for $3k. The search continues...
