Hello Of,

My question today is regarding this 18 k gold Seamaster 25577 - cal 354

Its a black, Honeycomb? 3-6-9-12 dial,
I am leaning towards it being refinished as a google search has not given me much to compare
The white speck in the photo is just fluff on the crystal.
Any opinions on this ?
Thanks all

If it's a redial it would fool me.

From what iv learned, honeycomb is typically kept original ? would that be a somewhat fair assumption ?

I think the dial is OK, but I am not an expert. I also think that white speck is fluff, but I would ask to be sure. There is no reason to not ask for another close-up taken at some other time than 3:30. It looks like a beauty to me.

No, I've had one refinished.

Interesting,
what are you thoughts on this one ? the price seems quite reasonable at under $2k CAD

The speck is clearly blown off the crystal in the last two shots.

Dial is right, hands are right, crown is likely not right, reference number not right. Should only be four digits.

I have found this,
the one in question is missing "chronometer officially certified"
Different movement ?

Yes, and this one has the flat top S. There were chronometer and non-chronometer version.

I am not sure about the dial but the second hand is definitely wrong 😁

Notice in the first watch the second hand points to nowhere in particular, whereas in the second two examples it points precisely to the minute track.

Indeed. I missed it too, because I was focused on the dial. @hoipolloi spotted it right quick.

I think that the second hand was replaced which is not uncommon for a watch this age. If it was mine, i would just have it trimmed during service. It looks good, so if it is a redial, it is a very good one.

Too long and generic, not from Omega. Omega original second hand is finer and does not have that big hole like that.
