    Hi all,
For a long time I have been searching for one of those bracelets and today I bought this watch at auction only because of the bracelet. Price was a bit steep, especially since I am not really keen on faces on the dial... All in all it is going to cost around £3700 I suppose. Here's a few pics from the auction house (I assume the watch is a 166.020 with cal. 562).

    Now to the bracelet:
Seems to be in good condition, though somebody went and brushed the outer links instead of keeping them polished. I'm not sure whether any of the unsprung links are missing; I am counting 8 on each side. All 5 spring loaded links seem to be present. But this question is nagging me now :

Can those spring loaded links be removed (like with the SS versions) in order to resize the bracelet? Or else is there another way to shorten it without having to do a soldering job? My experience with other Omega gold bracelets is that as a rule there is no user friendly way to size them and from those pics I am seeing that the spring loaded links differ from the SS version.

Yes, it can be resized like the SS version by removing one or more of the spring loaded links

I was also watching this one. 2 x 8 plus 5 double is full length which is very good, most I've seen only have 3 or 4 double links left. The bracelet looks in pretty fine shape too apart from the incorrect finish and a light refinish will work wonders

I was also bidding on this, quite uncommon bracelet, I think you did well on it.

I wonder what the story is behind the watch, often worth contacting the auction house to see if they can put you in contact with the consignor to find out a little more about it.

This is one of those rare instances where the bracelet is more valuable than the watch.

And also one where a re-dial might actually increase the value of the watch! :D
