For sale is my 168.005 12-facet (“pie-pan”) Constellation from 1964 with a 1502 BoR bracelet, serviced in September 2019, for US$1890. As the photos attest, the watch looks great on the wrist, with a clean dial under a crystal with some nicks on it. Everything seems to be original with the watch. The quick-set date function works perfectly, happily, since the lovely octagonal crown is not the easiest thing to wind.
I bought this purely out of curiosity about the pie-pan dial and because it seemed like a good deal with the bracelet. I was not expecting to get so into this model, but it is an extremely compelling design on the wrist, the kind of watch that draws comments from non-watch people, such as my mother, who said—and this is a direct quote—“hey, that’s a nice watch you got there.” It has been my go-to “formal” watch in a life increasingly devoid of special occasions.
I think the bracelet is pretty fetching on the watch, but this one looks just as elegant on a nice leather strap, so if you’re interested in a head-only purchase, we can talk about that, since I hoard BoR bracelets anyway. The bracelet fits my spindly 6 7/8-inch (175mm) wrist perfectly, but I have a longer 1502 bracelet if you are a normal-sized fellow.
The price includes insured international EMS shipping by Japan Post, which seems to be delivering to most of the world again fairly speedily. No returns unless grossly misrepresented.
