168.005 condition/price and 168.005/6 caseback compatibility

Greetings All,
Thank you for your time, comments and expertise in advance.

1. I am considering to buy a 168.005 and am wondering if the pitting or wear around the seal can affect the price or longevity of the watch, overall great shape, near perfect face, w/ bracelet, all original etc., it's sitting at about $2800.00 US asking?

2. I purchased an exhibition caseback for a stainless body but later received confirmation it would not fit the desired model so am wondering if a stainless threaded caseback is proper or acceptable to install on a 18k gold 168.005/s caseback?

18k caseback, 168.005/s:

Stainless exhibition caseback w/ stainless threads, this is a top view of course, sapphire window:

Considering to purchase, wear around seal concern, ~2800.00 US?

Thank you,
J.O.

Welcome @JohnOmega

As @SOG53 says, your post is somewhat confusing.

First, marrying a steel case back to a gold case is a potentially dangerous endeavour.
If the threads aren’t aligned you are likely to irreparably damage the gold case as the gold is much softer than the steel.

Second, if you would like opinions about a watch, ( especially in relation to value) please post lots of full images ( including serial numbers) so that we can get an overall picture of the watch.

But for $2800 the watch had better be solid gold not steel.

Hope that helps.
