16710 owners - Date setting backwards with the 3185 movement?

Hello all,

I have just acquired a 16710 with the 3185 movement. My previous 16750 GMT had the classical quick set date. I'm new to this movement with independent hour hand. I scoured the web but I couldn't find a definitive answer. Can you move the date backwards with this movement? I saw one post on one forum saying you can but I would like to be 100% convinced.

Since the 3185 and 3186 are fundamentally the same, I believe you're ok moving the date backwards. This is from the owners manual for my BLNR with the 3186: "the date changes when the the hour hand passes midnight, in either direction...."

My 3186 Exp II works fine when you turn the hour hand backwards.

No problems - have done it before with my 16710

I also have a 16710 and yes, you can change the date backwards by moving the hour hand counterclockwise.
