··Prolific Speedmaster HoarderHere offered an Original Omega Seamaster 145.023 "Anakin". These are extremely hard to find in pleasing condition, and I think this one is that rare example. It has a very good case, with patinated hands and dial. It is an original piece, not restored or polished. (You cannot polish them successfully)
The nickname was bestowed by Chuck Maddox, and there is a good summary about this very rare watches here
This example was serviced by STS in 2015 and stored in the safe since.
Coming with the watch is a NOS case back bought from Watchco, as well as an internal case and pusher unit that they also sold as NOS. I have never fitted them.
You will note the invoice states "Case Refinish". This obviously did not happen, as these Tungsten cases cannot be refinished due to the Vickers developed coating. In fact, finding an Anakin without case damage is rare. While it is very hard (resists scratching) it is a little brittle. So if you smash it against a steel door, as it will chip, rather than dent.
The case is in excellent condition with some very minor marks.
The dial and hands were left alone at service and are patinated. Note the Chrono hand especially.
The dial itself has a couple of marks. I have seen some dials for sale, but really I think it fits with the hands and the inner bezel.
Here is a close Hi res of the dial. Hiding nothing.
The bracelet is very clean and tight.
I am loath to crack the seal on a serviced watch like this, but if you make the sale dependent on it, I will.
Here are the parts included:
Provenance:
Bought by me from a private seller in the USA in 2014, then serviced at STS. Remained unworn since.
Price: £4250, bank transfer or crypto or Face to Face, London / South East
