Looking for a 70's or 80's era fully original Datejust in great condition to replace this Speedmaster that just isn't getting enough wrist-time. Purchased here on OF from a reputable seller in 2016 and very modestly worn since then. Probably a lot less than 30 days of use since then in total.

It has a 31 million serial movement with a metal brake (not a Delrin) from 1971. No documentation of service that allegedly occurred in 2014, but it functions as it should in every respect and keeps good time. Would be due for a service regardless, so please price that in.

The outer edges of the case are a bit worn but with some of the original polish still visible. The curved top edges of the lugs remain well defined. The DN90 bezel is black and all numbers are present. Aside from a small ding near 120, the bezel is in great shape, very lightly faded, and with light scratches commensurate with age.

The domed dial is the star here as it is flawless and lovely. The tritium aged to a lovely, yellow hue with no blemishes whatsoever. The original hands are clean with tritium intact on all hands matching the dial. There are some very small holes in the lume of the minute hand, but they are not visible with the naked eye and don't detract from the beauty of a watch that defies it's age.

The crystal is signed and in good condition with hairline scratches or scuffs. The back of the case has a small mark near one of the notches, and a few light hairline scratches, but otherwise in good shape and in sharp relief. All in all, this watch really doesn't look its age, but with patina in all the right places. An excellent, wearable example that is a pleasure to look at.

More photos of anything you want to see if we can get into a dialog. References available. Watch is located in Denmark and can be seen locally or shipped anywhere in the world to which insured, express shipping is available.

Trade would be for the watch head only.

SOLD. Never found the right DJ, but the watch found a good home regardless.
