The early bird gets the worm again! My gut instincts have by far been more rewarding than over analyzing a watch to death! Sometimes it’s a fine balancing act, but that’s how I got my first Ed White 18 years ago. Back then most people/dealers didn’t differentiate one Speedmaster from another. It’s a whole new world now!
Yes just went with my guts, after I got it I realized there are a few problems like hands/ pusher but the most rewarding is the 220 bezel which outweight the other problems so it is fine 😀 it will take a while to correct those but the time spent will be worth it

Wow congrats on the find. Almost makes me feel sorry that I uninstalled Facebook and removed my account.

May I ask, what sort of “local group” are we talking about? I’ve never seen a watch for sale on Facebook.

There should be many watches group page on FB, and people posting something for sale all the time.

Just abit update: source a pusher from a member here, will have it fitted soon. Also Extract states it was delivered to US on 30 Sep 1970 (awesome pdf format)😎

Now on hunt for the handsets if it is within my budget 😵‍💫.

Love that blue bezel! I have a 69 220 as well. Almost a collector condition.

Nice find! I have a 220 bezel as well. I notice some similarities between our watches, including very faint (almost not present at all) concentric circles on the subdials.

Oddly, mine also had the drop end style Chrono hand when I purchased it, like yours. I had it swapped during its first service.

This being the second instance of this, I can’t help but wonder. A photo for your contemplation:

Where did you get the hands? I believe mine was replaced in service long ago, it is still tritium.
