145.0022 Service Case - Your Thoughts?

I have been on the lookout for a Speedmaster Professional 145.022 case and during my search I've come across a couple complete service cases for sale. My initial gut reaction was to brush them off as being illegitimate reproductions but since I'm no expert when it comes to these service cases I figured I'd ask you all here on OF for your thoughts.

What to you think? Is it a legit service case or just a well concocted fake?

Thanks in advance for any help provided or info shared!

Thanks @Scarecrow Boat appreciate the quick reply!

@masteroftime please excuse me if I caused any offense, it was not my intention, just trying to do some due diligence. I’ll send a PM over about the case.

Because of the odd spacing in the word ; Missio ns , to me the case back at least is an aftermarket part as discussed in another thread here as well

I'm very dubious about these cases. The pushers look wrong and dont have a step in the shaft like original do. Also what I noticed is the case doesnt have the recess in the case for the thin metal washer for where the pusher meets the case. When the pusher is screwed down tight it should compress the washer to create a seal, the recess is in all the original old cases I have, and genuine pushers come with the metal washer.

I missed the spacing when I first saw this. I looked further into it and it looks like this exact case was discussed in the thread linked below.

Where it got this response
I think this is quite questionable, unfortunately.
If this is in fact the same case in both threads, it’s a bit disappointing for it to be sold as real 👎

Oh dear. The thread referenced above saved me from making the same mistake as I was in the process of purchasing one of these counterfeit cases from the original seller on C24. So glad a resource like OF exists!

Well...I feel like a huge idiot. I actually returned the first midcase after Archer's comment. I bought this case with caseback a month or two later from another source who sells on ebay, who I believed to be credible and I've dealt with on a few occasions. The case sat in a drawer right after getting it and I didn't even think they could have been the same. I now even wonder if I bought the same exact case twice and the sellers are connected.

I guess I've been screwed twice. I'm sorry all. I've taken the listing down. I definitely have no intention to deceive.

Don’t beat yourself up; it’s a decent fake that is close enough to the real thing that it’ll fool even seasoned enthusiasts. Shame on the original seller(s) who continue to pass off their crap as genuine.

Seconding the comment above of don't beat yourself up and shame on the original seller. Unfortunately sh** happens and sometimes while we're trying so hard to bring a project to fruition that we don't notice or we're not fully aware the issues. Thankful for the community here on OF for being such a valuable resource.

Also, hats off to @masteroftime for handling a tough situation with integrity and grace! In instances like this where an individual handles something the right and honest way, how I would hope I would hand the same situation if I were in their shoes, is truly commendable. I am very thankful to interact with those whose good character rings through in there actions!

Just an FYI - when someone is selling a "complete service case" it means exactly that. A complete case ordered from Omega will have everything on it - case back, case back seal, pushers, crown, crystal, bezel. It comes completely assembled (not with parts in different packages, or parts missing) ready to drop a movement into and call the job done - all you would have to do is fit the crown to the stem. So if anyone out there is selling a "complete service case" that isn't complete, I would treat it with some suspicion.

This applies to all complete cases ordered from Omega - they all come with all the parts on the case, at least any that I have ordered.

The presence or not of the recess at the pushers is not a reliable indicator. Omega cases vary with these - some have them, some don't, and in some instances a case will have one pusher with a recess and one without.

You are correct that all genuine screw in pushers for this case will come with the titanium washer.
