Hello. Can anyone let me know the hand sizes of the 1342 movement? I've just been lucky enough to get a '77 1342 ticking again having read the hints and tips on here (thank you)....my watch does not having the original hands and I'm keen to fit something a little more in keeping. Thanks in advance.

Should be on ranfft.

I am looking for another 1342. They seem to have become quite popular. I just got a battery clamp for mine. Debating on some hands on eBay. You are welcome to them.

Main issue with my movement is the seconds wheel has the tip missing. One of the setting wheels slips, and there are some missing screws. I have 'watch listings' on on the needed parts. Would need about 60 or 70USD of parts and still no case.

Sold listings had complete between 80 and 120 which is my sweet spot. There are a number going unsold for 150. Auctions seem to be heading above 200. Not sure the bidders realise what they are going after. I think they see the Omega and DeVille names and are getting something cheap. Or else they are looking for parts.

40USD would go a ways into a complete watch. I am trying to get out of the habit of collecting parts for my rat watch builds.

Missed out on a movement that had no chip. Did have a dial and hands, seller ended the auction early. Then claimed someone else bought it.

Hey, thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I did look on the new Ranfft, but it doesn't give hand sizes. I do miss the old Ranfft....it was OUR BIBLE!

I'm on a tight budget on this watch so will probably fit something similar for now and wait for the tight listing to turn up....

I just have the one 1342 so don't have any of the parts you need, which is a shame...the bits we both need will get there though.....ironically....this hobby takes time!

All the best!

The hand were not on the old database either.

I have been grabbing screen shots from archive.org There are over 10,000 pages. Bit tricky finding stuff. The index does not track the whole alphabet. I think it overflows around J or H. If you have a base link, you can Sometimes edit the url to replace the manufacture and caliber.
Since the archive index craps out at 10K most of the common hits are in German.

I had to join WRT (watch repair talk) to download the data sheets and service info. I did not see the hand sizes when I just scanned through it. I think some of the base caliber also shares 1330 based on some of that. Somewhere I should have the sizes as I was searching for suitable replacements. On the other hand calipers, a taper pin and fingernail polish gives a good approximation.

These are nice movements. Probably not that un repairable. I still think the chip can be replaced with an AVR processor to operate it and set the time. Mechanically it is a great movement.

The motor is quite large and can probably be rebuilt. The stator or what ever the, rotating part is called, does seem to be a permanent magnet. Not sure if these can be re energized. There is a ton of code out there for BLDC motors which this is. The data sheets even give the ratings and pulse timings.

It is interesting how a set of hands can list for 1/2 the price of a scrap movement. Although the later are trending into the 80USD range.

Edit:
I found where I probably got my reference to the hand size. oFrie. I am including a screenshot as links tend to die.

It looks like some ETA hands may fit as well... - good luck.
