1171 with 21mm widest link?

Hi there, an 1171 bracelet arrived today but I'm having trouble fitting it to my 69st.

The widest link is about 21mm, about 1mm wider than the lug-to-lug, which would dig into the lugs if I fit it. Also the centerlinks are a touch too wide for my original 633 endlinks, but totally fine with the 676 endlinks it came with.

The seller thinks its legit and I've no reason to doubt them, but then it doesn't fit like like my previous 1171s. I've never heard of a bracelet growing wider with age ha.

I am amazed by the buckle N ° 30.
in my opinion this 1171 bracelet is not made for your speedmaster model. this reference was also on other models, the widest link is then different.
did you count the number of links? it seems to me that there are more than on the classic 1171/633

The 30 buckle seems to have been used for a transitional time around 1970-71 as far as I can tell, it also appears on the 1116 bracelets, but very rarely on 1171. The 1171 was used on Seamaster 300 as well, but as far as I know the Seamaster also has 20mm lugs.

Is it possible you received a 1170 with a 1171 clasp?

Yes I think that's very probable. The seller agreed I could return for a refund, which is a pretty classy considering its only a 1mm difference.
