Hello,
I am calling your advices for the service of that 105.003.
I will give it to a local repair, omega authorized.
I intend to make it my daily wearer

I would like to have a full service mouvement, and change the crown with a correct period narrow that I have.
Now for the second hand, Would you replace it with a service luminova drop type, or repaint and relume the original?

Below few pics, sorry for the quality

Thanks folks

Leave the paint as it is but get colour match tritium substitute added to the tip

Maybe try the old coffee grounds method first

That would be my preference. Try and get whoever does it to use low-glow or no glow lume

Repaint with matching color. Not bright white.
Relume. Also using color matching, not stuff straight from the tube.
Dead lume is preferred.

Personally, I would leave it as it is. There is no need to tart it up, It's rather nice as is.

The lack of paint and lume is damage IMO. The rest is lovely patinated.

This is of course a matter of personal preferences.
However if things go sour giving a sweep seconds hand a lick of paint and some lume it is just to do it again.
This is not like polishing or similar as it does not involve removing any material.

The hand is stripped of old paint using chemicals, and then repainted / lumed. This is something any slightly gifted watchmaker will do without any problems. A good one will even match colors to a level that none of us will be able to spot.

The hand was never intended to be without paint and fill. I love patina, but I do not like damaged stuff.
