·It was ten plus years ago but now thinking about it, my 145.022-69 came with these. I thought they were cheap additions and changed them out immediately.

·All my original watches that came with flat-link bracelets had these bars. They can roll under the end-link, and can be very difficult to fish out without bending the link. I save them, but change them out.
Ok, that underlines my theory.
In the 30 years or so of me handling old watches I never came across these QR springbars untill recently when my interest for Omega started. So I had the feeling that this could be something Omega - specific. But indeed, it is not an important part of the watch as it can not be seen and there are other ways to safely fix the bracelet to these watches. Hope you don't mind me being so obsessed with this....

With all of these old springbar designs, I’m sure they seemed like a good idea at the time, whether drilled lug shoulderless, or female, or these quick release ones. With few exceptions though, the whole industry is now using the design Omega uses in all their modern watches.
I don’t trust these old bars nor the springs inside of them at all and wouldn’t risk a good watch on anything but the brand new Omega versions unless they needed something specific to fit their case or bracelet in which case I’d still find some NOS.
